Why Use Injecta Fire Barrier

Using the patented Injectaclad system, developed by leading fire protection professionals, reinstates the fire resistance performance of wall and floor construction cavity details without the need for costly façade removal.

The product, which has been tested and approved to BSEN:1366 Part 4 and BS8414-1, is considered as an intumescent or reactive material and expands upon contact with heat, preventing fire and smoke from passing from one compartment to another.

Holes are opened in the external façade at 2 metre centres, negating the need to remove the whole of the building façade.

Stainless steel support pins are then fixed at even centres between these openings.

A reinforcing mesh support ‘sock’ is installed into the cavity, supported by the stainless steel pins.

Injectaclad, an acrylic based graphite sealant, is then pumped into the void to the desired depth and width using a patented method to form a linear cavity fire barrier.

Recordings are taken of the installation for quality assurance purposes and to provide a record of the areas within the building where the fire resistance performance has been reinstated. Clients are provided with a photographic record on completion of the works.

The holes created in the external façade are ultimately made good.
